Snow Day

It looks like Boston's first "noreastern" has blown in. It started snowing around 12:30 today and has been going strong for the last 3 hours. I got off work early, and Eric's been studying for finals, so we decided to enjoy the snow and go for a walk. Eric's a huge snow fan, and everything did look so fresh and clean, covered in snow. I took a couple photos. One of them is of Eric blowing snow at the camera; that's why you can't see his face. Don't you love snow days (when you don't have to go anywhere?!) Merry Christmas!

These are a few of my favorite things.....

As my family knows, I've been making personalized cards for years. It's something I've always loved to do. This year I decided to make everyone a personalized card to go with their Christmas gift, and it's been a lot of fun!
Something else I've really enjoyed this Christmas season is a peppermint bark recipe my friend Anne Marie gave me. It's so easy and they are so good! Just melt a bag of white chocolate chips, stir in a bunch of crushed candy cane, and pour it onto a cookie sheet, covered with sprayed tin foil or wax paper. Then stick it in the fridge and bingo! Three minutes to heaven!
The last thing I've really been enjoying this year is our Christmas tree. We didn't have one last year, but this year bought one that almost touches the ceiling. The reason I love our tree so much is because I get to look at the adorable ornaments that hang on it. These ornaments are almost all Eric's, thanks to his mom who bought him one every year of his life since he was born, each ornament representing some event he experienced that year. Several of these make me laugh every time I look at them because they're so cute. Don't you love the little things that make life so fun?

A John Secada Christmas

The day after Thanksgiving the Macy's downtown always has a special tree lighting ceremony. Eric's brother, Danny, was visiting us for the week and we decided to go check it out. Does anyone out there remember John Secada? He had a 90's hit, "Make it through the day without you....". Well I loooved that song. In fact it's in my head right now. Well John was singing at the Macy's shopping season kick-off and I was excited! (Can you see him in the photo? He's in white, just like an angel. Just kidding!) It was a lot of fun. There were Christmas songs and at the end, a huge tree with over 50,000 lights was lit. John was signing cd's afterward but we decided to take off (some other time i guess). I love Christmas!
