Merry Christmas

I don't talk often of spiritual things on my blog because they're personal and sacred to me, but here is an experience I felt I needed to share. I was listening to the radio the other day and the d.j. said "Merry Christmas everyone. Let me repeat that: Merry Christmas!" It really hit me at that moment how few times I've actually heard those words this season. Even Christmas has become a politically incorrect word, and I find that our society is "tolerating" it less and less. How tragic! When I heard those words on the radio that day, Merry Christmas, I got chills. I'm so grateful for this magical season that we have been given by our Savior, and for the opportunity that we have to celebrate not only his birth, but his glorious life and infinite atonement. It makes me want to shout the words, Merry Christmas, over and over! Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope it is a sweet one for all of you.

Drifting....

I really love Celtic music. I'm a huge sucker for it! Whenever I need to get away from it all I pop in this cd and it takes me away to a place like this:

Doesn't that look cozy? Sometimes I imagine Eric and I picking up and moving ourselves somewhere like this. I can just picture our old, tiny neighbors that herd sheep. And there may not be a market for a few miles. But doesn't it look nice?

Bad Habit

My baby likes to wave the birdie around. I'm not offended, but the guy on the bus the other day sure was. She was waving at him like it was going out of style, middle finger leading the way. I saw his face (quite disgusted and disapproving) but turned away as if I didn't know what was going on. Aspen and I may have to have a chat in a year or two....

A New Hampshire Thanksgiving

Does anybody else love this movie? Are there any other White Christmas fans out there? I've seen this movie oh, 25+ times and I still love it. Eric and I watched it the other night to kick off our Christmas season and it definitely did the trick. I've been singing the songs for several days now.
So while I'm asking questions, does anybody else take several days to recover from Thanksgiving? Or am I the only one that has trouble limiting myself to only 4 pieces of pie? Seriously, I love Thanksgiving dinner so much because you can mix every single thing on your plate with every other single thing on your plate and it tastes so darn good. I had a Thanksgiving hangover for 3 days.

Over Thanksgiving break my dad and stepmother Lisa came out for a visit. We spent several days traveling around and showing them the sights, and then went up to New Hampshire to stay at a cute little inn (we found an awesome package). The day after Thanksgiving it snowed. It was a perfect ending to our trip.
