My little sister Demri played football in high school. I'm not kidding! She was the field goal kicker on a team of boys. She was the sporty prototype: she was an amazing soccer player, and excelled in pretty much any sport she played. One day, as a joke, I asked her if she would ever consider going out for cheerleading. I'll never forget her response: "Chelsi, I don't cheer for people. People cheer for me." Enough said!
Demri arrived in Chile last Monday after spending two months in the Missionary Training Center in Provo. I can't wait to hear from her!

I've been looking for some new kitchen canisters for awhile. I wanted something different, fun, and that I could put my own spin on. I saw these tins at a craft store the other day and knew they were what I was looking for! I bought them and rubbed on some letters (O for oatmeal, F for flour, and P for popcorn), and really love the way they turned out.

The Binky

I should probably try to get her to quit it. She probably would if I tried. But I just love it, the way it takes up her face, leaving those cheeks by themselves. And the way it moves when she sucks on it. Maybe next month......

It's the weekend; hallelujah

Two and a half days to spend with my sweetie.  Seriously, the moment never comes soon enough!

Maybe it's the freshness, the toasted bun, or the onions and fry sauce.  Whatever it is, I like it.  I made Eric pull over the other day when we were in Reno, so he could try it.  I think it was a mistake, because he couldn't stop talking about it all week, and we had to make another run on our way home.

My Lake Tahoe poem

clear, blue water
sunburn, on my back
ouch!
couldn't get enough yogurt covered raisins
a vacation home here would be wicked
i say wicked because i used to live in boston
very, very cold at the campsite
holy cow i didn't bring a heavy jacket for
mornings and evenings
why did we pick such a shaded campsite
large grains of sand; i like better than tiny ones
my sis is a tough prego
seven months prego and a camping girl!
yummy cornbread muffins made by Sash
the hike Eric and i did was great
thanks auntie and uncle for watching the baby
the ground squirrels here are nasty little things.

Good news and some way overdue photos

Eric just accepted a job here in Boise doing in-house legal counsel for a local company.  We are having feelings of excitement, relief, and gratitude.  Hallelujah!  We have been praying for this day for a long time.  We are now in the process of searching for our first home.
My dad came through Boise recently and took some family photos for us.  We haven't had any taken in a long time, so it was nice to finally get some updated photos.  Thanks, Dad!

All Aspen wanted to do was climb....
and climb!
