A New Favorite

Here are some photos of our trip to Maine last weekend. What a beautiful place! We had such a great time, in spite of the rain. I do have a confession, though. As proud as I may feel at being able to tough out a camping trip with a baby, I've realized that I am not a rainy day camper! No way; it just doesn't appeal to me like camping on a sunny day.
It was Aspen's first time in her Kelty backpack and, thank goodness, she loved it. I don't know what we would have done if she hadn't: she was strapped into her carseat on the 5 hour trip up (she cried), strapped into her trailer as we went on a bike ride (she cried), and then strapped in the backpack (she hates being strapped down, but she didn't cry once). So that was a relief.

On Saturday we biked and hiked along the beach, and then for dinner stopped along side the road viewing the ocean and made some chili. The sunset was beautiful, and Eric and I enjoyed a romantic dinner while Aspen slept in the car.

After dinner we went to Bar Harbor (the local town). So fun! It was alive with tourists and cute shops. On the ride home it was very foggy, and with the moon being full and fall coming, there was a very Halloweenish feel.

It was a great trip, and we would advise anyone thinking of going to definitely check it out!

WOW you look so good. You don't look at all like you had a baby anytime recently. Way to go. I am jealous of you being able to live near the ocean. That trip looks like a great one.
