She really is an angel, but today I just felt like giving her horns.  Somehow it just makes me feel better, especially when she's a little skunk!

Our trip to the coast...

was full of sun, sand, seafood, movies and pancakes.  A perfect week!

Sending out an s.o.s.

What's happened to my baby?!  She won't go down for her naps, she gets these violent fits where she claws at my face, and she's started to dribble her yogurt all over the floor (from her mouth).  She's still a beautiful, wonderful baby, but I have to say that she's turned into quite the little handful.  I really had no idea how inadequate I could feel as a mother!  I feel like I've had discipline thrown at me so fast, and I'm not quite sure how to start.  Eric and I used to think we had this parenting thing down, but now we're not so sure!  We're learning a lot, I just hope it's fast enough.  We love her strong spirit and are so grateful for her ambition; now we're learning how to channel it!  I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about.  Right?  Right?

Some of my favorite people.....

I've been so blessed to be able to hang out with some of my favorite people lately.  While we were out in Oregon I was able to spend a day with my grandmother and my cousin Bethany.  I don't get to see them very often and it was so much fun to catch up!  Eric took a day off from studying during our time at the beach on our anniversary and it was so great to have him to myself for a day (well, I did have to share him with Aspen, but she's one of my favorite people too, so...).  This past week I went to see my lil' sis, Sasha, who's six months pregnant.  We had a great time chatting, going to the park, and trying to get Aspen to take her morning nap.  I love summer for this reason:  catching up with those I love but don't get to see very often!

Newport Bridge

Eric's always said he's a mountain person, not a beach person (if he had to choose between the two).  I'm stuck somewhere in the middle.  The mountains are stunning, green (or white), and full of adventure, I know.  But there's something about the beach.  It's mysterious.  Kind of lonely, and a little creepy, let's just say it.  I don't think I could live in a small beach town, but visiting one is so great.  And come on, the Oregon coast rocks because not only do you get gorgeous beaches, but pine trees surrounding them.
I'll post more photos later of our trip to Newport (I'm going to see my sister Sasha for a couple days), but here's one of my favorites, and unfortunately I can't claim it.  At the end of our week Eric admitted that the beach had really grown on him, and I think this photo he shot shows he's got a wonder for it, too!

Off to the beach

Tonight we're headed out to Oregon for a couple days, where Aspen and I can play on the beach and Eric can study for the bar exam without interruption.  I can't wait until the bar is over!  I'll get my husband back, and our life will be much more stress free.  I just thought I'd say adios with this lovely photo, which pretty much sums up my feelings about the bar exam!

Took this little one...

to feed the ducks the other day.  It brought back memories of going to the pond at Hewlett Packard where my dad used to work when I was little. Except for this pond had few ducks and lots of geese, and they were very, very bad!  I'd never seen such mean and nervous geese.  So unfortunately we didn't stay very long, and will be to a different pond next time.
