Painting with water onto a chalkboard is one of the kids' favorite things to do lately. And I love it because their creative juices are flowing, yet there's little mess!
I finally went out and bought them a smaller board, since they had been using my wall chalkboard, which is enormous.
As much as I dislike the time change I do like that Summer seems closer as the days get longer. The daffodils that Aspen and I planted in the yard are peeping through, as well as my irises and hyacinths. We've had some 60+ degree days as well, so that makes me happy!! We spent Saturday in the yard and it felt great to get a head start on all the things we want to do in the front and backyards.
I've been trying to get my bu_t out the door lately for some morning runs, and boy does it feel good when it happens! I love Spring! And I can't wait for Easter.
Oakley's latest words are amen, hello, moooo, shoe and cheese. And also shhhhhh, from one of his Peek-aboo books. He does this weird thing with his eyes where he puts his head down but looks up at you with his eyes like he's plotting something evil that you don't know about. He also won't make eye contact with you when he knows you're watching him. He'll turn his head away from you and then slowly turn it back toward you, with his eyes on you. Sometimes that kid scares me :)
I got the game Sequence for my birthday and I love it! It's a fun game that Eric and I can play together. I also got an ice cream maker and made my first batch of strawberry ice cream the other day. Wow, this is a very journal-esque post! Happy Spring!-ish.

What a fun idea, to paint with water on chalkboard! Genius!!

There's something so exciting about seeing flowers you plant come up in spring! I can't wait to see some photos of your yard areas later on in the season!

Love and miss you,
B

I'm commenting here in response to your sweet comment on my blog. :)

I hear ya about the park and street... I often say to Josh how different it is for our kids growing up. I almost feel like they are pets and I'm taking them to "the dog park to run them". haha! We hope to one day buy a house with some property around it too - it would be so cool to have a little space to run and be free! :)

We need to make a cousins reunion happen this year! Or even plan one for 2013... just to get something on everyone's calendar.
