My babies don't come on their own. With Aspen I was induced 9 days after her due date. With Oakley 5 days after he was supposed to show up. This time around I decided if I was going to be induced anyway, it might as well be early! At 39 weeks I was induced last Sunday and Birch Steven Ritter entered our family at just over 7 lbs. and 20 1/2 inches long. He is by far my smallest baby, and pushing was amazingly fast (thank heavens!). I just can't believe how tiny he is; not much bigger than a football. Aspen was 7 lbs. 9 oz, and Oakley was 8 lbs.
I don't know what it is but Eric and I produce jaundiced babies, and just like Oakley Birch's levels have been high enough to require a bililight at home, and tests at the hospital every day. My poor baby being pricked every morning! He's also a very deep sleeper, so feedings have been a little difficult. The last day he's nursed much better so that's been a relief.
He's got his own look, but is definitely a Ritter. It has been so nice having Eric home all week; he has been so awesome at letting me rest and spend time with our little baby, and the kids have been so spoilt to have so much daddy time. I really love this time; a new baby, time at home with the whole family together, getting to know our new addition. I feel really blessed.

Congratulations again Chelsi! What a precious little baby. He has been in our prayers and our fast and I hope he feels better and starts eating well soon.
I can't wait to meet him next month! I know he is going to make me want another one sooner than later...
