We Should Have Stuck to Our Guns.....

When Aspen was born Eric swore that the only toys she would ever own would be sticks and rocks. After all, that's the best part of growing up, right? The times you were outside making fishing poles with sticks, or throwing rocks at other kids' heads....hmmm....ok, maybe rocks aren't the best idea. Anyway, Aspen's grandparents felt bad for her, and offered to buy her some toys. After much pleading we relented, and she received some. She likes them alright, but the other day she found this box and was in heaven; entertained for 30 minutes at least. It was great! I guess Eric was right. Now what do we do with all her toys?

Good Intentions.....

This morning when I got up I had every intention of going to the gym. Then I saw that it was raining.......
and I made some chocolate chip cookie dough, and ate it......
and then proceeded to eat the cookies. Oh well, there's more ways than one to get a good workout!

Quick Trip

We went to the Berkshires in western Massachusetts last weekend. I'd always heard how beautiful it was so I told Eric we had to go; I couldn't wait any longer! I was not disappointed; it was beautiful! We did a little apple picking, a little tag saling (garage saling for all you westerners), a little biking through the countryside....it was lovely! I bought myself some cookie cutters, we grabbed a half gallon of cider, and some cider donuts while we were at it. I love fall in New England; I'm sad it may be our last!

A New Favorite

Here are some photos of our trip to Maine last weekend. What a beautiful place! We had such a great time, in spite of the rain. I do have a confession, though. As proud as I may feel at being able to tough out a camping trip with a baby, I've realized that I am not a rainy day camper! No way; it just doesn't appeal to me like camping on a sunny day.
It was Aspen's first time in her Kelty backpack and, thank goodness, she loved it. I don't know what we would have done if she hadn't: she was strapped into her carseat on the 5 hour trip up (she cried), strapped into her trailer as we went on a bike ride (she cried), and then strapped in the backpack (she hates being strapped down, but she didn't cry once). So that was a relief.

On Saturday we biked and hiked along the beach, and then for dinner stopped along side the road viewing the ocean and made some chili. The sunset was beautiful, and Eric and I enjoyed a romantic dinner while Aspen slept in the car.

After dinner we went to Bar Harbor (the local town). So fun! It was alive with tourists and cute shops. On the ride home it was very foggy, and with the moon being full and fall coming, there was a very Halloweenish feel.

It was a great trip, and we would advise anyone thinking of going to definitely check it out!

The End of Summer

How did it go by so fast?

Off to Maine.....

Tomorrow we're leaving to go up to Maine to visit Acadia National Park. We're so excited because we've wanted to make this trip for the last 2 years. We've been to Maine once a couple years ago for a ski trip; it was freezing! These are some photos of our last trip. It was in January, and there was a huge ice storm that blew through on our drive up. I've always wanted to go during the summer, and what's the forecast for this weekend? Rain, of course! We're camping, so hopefully the weatherman's wrong! Wish us luck!

Baby With Attitude

I had so much fun taking these photos of Aspen a couple months ago. I think it's time for another shoot!

Family Fotos

Before we left Boise Eric's parents had some family photos taken. The one uptop of Eric, Aspen and I is the first family picture we've had taken. I'm not very good at having people snap our photo often when we're together; it's something I need to do more often.
The guys didn't know the photographer was snapping photos at this point. At least, I don't think they knew.......
One of just the girls....
Me and my babes!
The family together. Thanks Pete and Ami for a great summer!

Not to Brag or Anything....
