Losing the binky

It's a hard life for a two-year-old and her parents when the binky "disappears" and the withdrawals kick in! I hope she's at the end of it, the poor thing.

Good for Aspen! That's a tough transition.

Selah had to give up her binky 3 weeks ago because she was getting "binky rash" around her mouth over and over, so we finally took the binky away. The sad side of our story is that she hasn't taken a nap since! Ack! :( ...and she still has a small rash around her mouth that won't go away! It was definitely a win/lose situation. :)

We had Eliot take the scissors and cut off the tips and then put them in the trash can. At the time she thought it was a game. She didn't ask about them though.

On another note, how did you do the crib to bed transition?

We are having this problem with the bottle. He hates the sippy cup and it is so hot right now that I don't want him to dehydrate. He has till the fall and then it's gone!

Did the Binky Fairy come & leave a note thanking her for the binkies? This worked wonders with having Katie give up the bottle. The Bottle Fairy left a little gift & she was thrilled. Still had some w/d issues, but better than expected.

What a sweetie! Good luck to you all. I have no advice on this one. Darian, miraculously gave it up on her own.
