Well here I sit, a week before Christmas, thinking of all we've been doing the last several weeks.  Christmas time is always a whirlwind for me, as I'm sure it is with most people, moms especially!  This year I've really tried to slow things down a little, as much as I can.  I figured if we were celebrating Christmas a little bit every day it wouldn't go by so fast.  And it's worked!
I made a (simple!) advent calendar for the kids this year, and each day they either get a gift or some activity that we get to do as a family.  My parents did this for us when we were kids and it was very exciting for us.  This year we've gone to live nativities, looked at Christmas lights, etc.  We've also been doing loads of Christmas crafts during the day, and the kids have loved that.  Now that Oakley is big enough to really enjoy traditions, it's been fun starting some.
Well the morning sickness is finally gone, although my energy levels still wane.  When I was pregnant with Aspen I never had energy, and with Oakley it was 14 weeks and I couldn't sit still I had so much!  I don't know if I'll ever get the latter this time :)  But that's okay.  I love not being sick!  I have very few cravings this time around, which is strange for me.  The only thing I can't get enough of is maki maki.  I've gone out for sushi 3 times the last 2 weeks and I still want more.  Of course just the california/avocado rolls.  Must be the salt or something!  I told Eric when the baby comes it's a full-blown sushi dinner for me, that's all I ask :)
Merry Christmas!
